An autoresponder is software that can be web
based or on your home computer. It consists of the following:
- Series of preloaded messages with programmed
days between sending each message
- Each message is either html or text
- Automatic removal of people that no longer
are interested
- Tracking of messages for click thru and
open rates (not all have this feature)
- Import of new prospects (many autoresponder's
do not allow this or have imports limited)
Each message is designed to 'drip" some information
about your product or service to each prospect in the autoresponder.
A well designed email campaign will entice prospects to click on
the link in the email and go to your website or lead capture page.

Both of these autoresponder's allow importing
of leads into your account. The leads must be optin leads. An optin
email lead is a prospect that has filled out a form form more
information.
You can also setup email
marketing campaign software on a dedicated server.
These are used when you want to send out large volumes of mail.
Many of these autoresponder's can send 750,000 - 1,000,000 per
day. These can be setup so you can sell individual accounts or
if you want you can setup a single user account when you want your
message to go out in high volume.
